CBSE EXAM PATTERN FOR CLASS I TO V

The assessment of students are done in two areas i.e.

  1. Scholastic
  2. Co-scholastic

The scholastic area mostly includes test marks ( Cycle test, Periodic test,Half-yearly test & Annual test ), notebook submission  and subject enrichment activities.. On the other hand, the co-scholastic areas include co-curricular activities like dance, art, music, etc. The academic year has two different assessments  Formative and Summative Assessments.

  • Formative Assessment:

Through this assessment, the students are observed on a regular basis regarding their progress in academics. It includes General Knowledge quiz, class-work, projects, assignments, practical, class test, homework, etc. These assessments will be conducted in the regular periods of concerned subjects.

  • Summative Assessment:
This assessment test is the final assessment of the student’s performance conducted by our School.

CBSE EXAM PATTERN FOR CLASS VI TO VIII

  • Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes VI to VIII comprises of two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2 :

 

TERM-1 (100 marks)

(1st half of the session)

20 marks Internal Assessment +

80 marks for Half Yearly Exam

TERM-2 (100 marks)

(2nd half of the session)

20 marks Internal Assessment  +

80 marks for Yearly Exam

 

  • Subject Enrichment Activities: These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students.

 

  • Science: Practical work and activities in Science are undertaken as suggested by CBSE.

 

  • Social Science: Map and project work are undertaken as suggested by the CBSE.

 

Grading Scale for Scholastic Areas (Classes VI-VIII)

  • Co-Scholastic Activities (Classes VI-VIII): For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities are being carried out in our school by the teachers and students are graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair). It also includes:

 

  • Work Education - Work Education refers to skill-based activities
  • Art Education - (Art and Craft)
  • Health and Physical Education (Outdoor & Indoor Sports and Yoga)

 

  • Discipline (Classes VI-VIII): The students are also assessed for discipline which are basically based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards teachers and others. Grading on Discipline are also done on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair).

 

  • Report Card: Based on the above assessment scheme, report cards are issued.
